Surviving the Holidays

Central Hope Support Groups is offering two Surviving the Holidays seminars during the normal support group time:

DivorceCare Seminar

Tuesday, Nov. 11 // 7:00pm // Room 220A

Are you recently divorced or separated? Do you know someone who is? Join us for this encouraging seminar. When a marriage ends, the holiday season can be especially painful. This seminar helps participants face challenges, and you’ll learn:

  • How to deal with emotions
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events
  • Ways to help children through the holidays
  • How to see hope for the future

There is no need to do a registration for these seminars if you already regularly attend these groups. If you have not previously attended, please register below.

The cost to attend either seminar is $10.

GriefShare Seminar

Are you wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated? This seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. You’ll learn:

  • How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
  • What to do about traditions and other coming changes
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events
  • How to discover hope for your future

There is no need to do a registration for these seminars if you already regularly attend these groups. If you have not previously attended, please register below.

Children’s Programming for Wednesday Nights

November 12 // Check-in begins at 6:00pm

Children ages birth through 5th grade are invited to our mid-week Pit Stop, where they’ll have worship and a lesson in big group time before breaking out for small groups and a fun activity. Check-in begins at 6:00pm at the normal check-in desks. Please register (for free!) so that our volunteers are ready to greet your child.

An Evening with Pastor George

Thursday, November 13 // 7:00pm // Chapel

All are invited to a special evening of worship through piano music, featuring Central Community’s own Pastor George Skramstad. This solo concert will feature selections from Pastor George’s new album, “Praise to the Father.”

Service of Remembrance

Thursday, Nov. 20 // 6:30PM // Chapel

If you’ve lost a loved one over this last year, you’re invited to take part in our annual Service of Remembrance. You’ll hear an encouraging message of hope, and honor your loved one with the lighting of a candle. Click the link below to add a name to the remembrance list.

Thanksgiving Food Distribution

Take part in our biggest community outreach event of the year! There are opportunities for everyone to get involved:

Child Dedication

Child dedication is a special demonstration that parents make before God and their church saying they intend to raise their children to love and follow Christ. If you would like your family to be included in this special dedication service, click the registration link below to sign up for the required parenting class happening on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10:30am, in K-Chapel (118). Hope & a Future Foster Party

Every child should know that they are loved by God and by their community. That’s why we’re excited to partner with FosterICT and many other local churches and organizations to throw a giant Christmas celebration to show them the love of Christ and invest in their future. The Majesty of Christmas

Experience the wonder of the very first Christmas at the Majesty of Christmas, a Wichita tradition! Your entire family is invited to step back in time and witness the pageantry of the nativity story unfold right before your eyes. Enjoy a 100-voice choir, symphony orchestra, live nativity, and surprises along the way in this spectacular musical celebration. (Admission is free with general seating.)

Christmas Eve Candlelight Services

Your family is invited to the Christmas Eve Candlelight services at Central Community Church, a favorite holiday tradition that transcends generations. Celebrate Jesus’s birth by enjoying the best of Christmas music with choir and orchestra, and hear an inspiring message of hope from Senior Pastor Bob Beckler. There are three opportunities to attend. Your family will not want to miss this hallmark experience of the season. Join us in-person or for the live-streams.
